Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing and monitoring all personnel, activities, tools and materials entering and exiting the controlled area in nuclear and fossil fuel power generation facilities. Entry and exit activities are to be documented manually and/or on computer, maintaining precise records for each customer. Presenting a professional appearance, demeanor and client communication at all times during each project in accordance with Access Solutions standards is required.
Functions
Conduct pre-inventory and on-going accounting for all tools, supplies and materials used during the maintenance of power facilities. Record and account for personnel entry and exit from maintenance area. Document the recovery of parts, tools and materials, including location, within equipment and maintenance area. Direct personnel in the recovery of lost materials. Enter information into log and accounting books. Create report documents and maintain information manually as well as on computer based applications. Report and document any on-site incidents. Manage the flow of personnel entering and exiting the maintenance area.
Skills, Abilities and Attributes
Must have a high level of attention to detail and very legible handwriting to communicate inventory and activity information to the Federal standard. Must be able to precisely account for parts, tools, all materials and personnel activity. (Example: Tools are inspected and documented entering the area. When personnel bring tools out of the area, inspection occurs, if a tool is found damaged with a missing part, the missing item must be located within the area, this includes small metal chips in tools. Documentation is completed on the missing item as well as the outcome of the search.) Successful applicant must possess basic computer skills, be able to handle various levels of stress within the work environment and be able to sit for long periods of time.
Requirements
Federal requirement of 21 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent and must possess a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational and communication abilities, and legible penmanship. Willing to travel with flexible schedule. Must be able to pass extensive nuclear industry criminal background and credit check, drug and alcohol test (initial and random); extensive psychological exam applied.
Work Schedule and Compensation
Work assignments vary in length, generally averaging three weeks but can last longer. Per diem, travel expenses and travel time are paid. Will work up to 10 - 14 hours per shift - overtime is paid over a 40 hour work week. Days worked per week will vary from five to seven days per week depending on customer location. The prime work season is September thru May.
Training and Assessment
Upon completion of our application process and review we provide newly hired Team Members with paid instruction time at our training facility and in the field. Training will be made up of class and lab study, computer-based training, testing, work condition simulation and on-site job mentoring. You will be trained to gain knowledge of tools and materials associated with the maintenance of steam generators and turbines and to qualify for access into nuclear power generation facilities, for which you must pass site testing with minimum scores of 80%. Each nuclear power plant requires in-processing to issue a security badge, lasting from one day to one week and can include a 600+/- psychological questionnaire profile assessment.
